Both Ras and I love this table. Victorian, 19th Century and Industrial with a strong Gothic influence. It is very solid and has heavy iron Gothic ironwork to each side, a folding top opens and folds to create a stand. There is a simple stretcher which has been rounded from many years of feet resting there. Wheels to the front legs make it moveable and the number 60 painted to the side makes you imagine it in a line of others. However saying that we cannot find another anything like it, after much searching.
The narrow recess under the lid once held a moving part, perhaps a spindle or mechanical part. Excellent patina.
It measures 1020mm wide x 665mm and is 720mm high.
A little too low to sit at with a modern chair but fine with a stool or lower chair
The colour may be slightly different depending on your screen. All of our furniture is Antique or Vintage and has patina.
When we restore pieces we never take them back to raw as this lessens the integrity of a piece. Patina is the build up of little marks and scratches over the many years of the life of an antique, these give it a lovely warm overall appearance.
