Late 19th Century screen with incredible Indian Zardozi needlework. Zardozi embroidery is done with threads of metal, in this case silver on silk. Incorporating silver sequins and coloured thread as well. It shows the tree of life with a glorious peacock. The ground is very fine silk that has worn in areas, as shown.
Originally it had glass, but it has long gone.
It measures 550mm wide x 1270mm high and is 320mm deep at the base.
The colour may be slightly different depending on your screen. All of our furniture is Antique or Vintage and has patina.
When we restore pieces we never take them back to raw as this lessens the integrity of a piece. Patina is the build up of little marks and scratches over the many years of the life of an antique, these give it a lovely warm overall appearance.
If there are any major marks or defects we will always point them out either in the description and or photos. If you need more photos just let us know. Inspections welcome. Pop into our shop.
